The Unique home pottery course

How it works:

Step 1:

I take you through the basics of hand building with a step by step

DVD, giving you the chance to pause and take time to learn.

Step 2:

When you have finished making your pieces, you can drop them

off to the studio in Whitstone near Bude to be fired in the kiln. (collection service available)

Step 3,4,5 and more...

You then have the opportunity to collect your work or go on to the next step  of glazing. It's up to you. If you want to make more, then you can buy a clay and firing only package.

How the Home Course works

For many years I have been teaching children and adults alike, only to find, that at the end of the course people have to stop their new found love due to financial outlay or space reasons. (Wheels and kilns are not cheap and take up a lot of room!) So I came up with the idea of Pottery Box enabling people to enjoy the world of clay for as long as they like.

Clays, Firings Glazes and Tools

A Large variety of materials and equipment will be at your fingertips

Clay and glazing tools

Small glaze tubs for brush on colours and slips all come with a test tile so you can see what it will look like when its fired

The big glaze tubs at the studio, you can pay by for by the dip

Clays in varying size bags

In the Spotlight

on a regular basis there will also be clays and glazes “ In the spotlight “where you can try your hand at materials like porcelain, red clay, stoneware, with different glazes and techniques to suit the topic. These will often be accompanied by the option of a members morning before you take them home to work in your own time.
